About Me: I am a senior in high school and will be attending Berkeley in the fall. Through my work at OHSU and the VA Portland Healthcare, I have analyzed clinical and genetic datasets to study early indicators of Parkinson’s disease in prodromal patients using various statistical analyses. In the Raber Lab, I developed Python scripts to automate large-scale image segmentation for biomedical imaging data. I also conducted research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where I performed multivariable regression analyses on maternal-fetal health data and contributed to multiple abstracts examining how clinical and behavioral factors influence perinatal outcomes. As a Student Healthcare Leader at Adventist Health, I shadowed multiple departments in healthcare where I gained exposure to a range of clinical settings and observed how data, imaging, and physician decision-making intersect in patient care. These experiences have shaped my interest in computational biology.

Project/Research Interests: I would be interested in working with pathology image data related to neurological and cardiovascular diseases, focusing on the brain and heart. In the brain, this could include conditions such as brain tumors and glioblastomas. In the heart, I would be interested in cardiomyopathies or cardiac tumors. I am interested in learning how machine learning and AI models are built and how they actually learn from different types of biomedical data. I want to better understand how these different inputs can be used to train AI models.
