EDIT ML Program Track: Mentor

About Me: My name is Maya, and I am interested in the field of AI with medical applications. I have participated in competitions on ML applications for medical sciences since 2022. Last year, I thoroughly enjoyed my Advanced Track internship at EDIT AI, which renewed my interest in this field. I have worked on projects navigating complex diseases that are widespread around the world. In these projects, I have mainly focused on disease prevention utilizing AI models that can analyze patient images as well as medical or genetic data. Recently, I have enjoyed working on LLMs as reasoning agents for insulin delivery for Type 1 diabetics and presenting this at a conference. I am also a treasurer of the Girls Who Code at my school, where I teach coding languages to other girls and conduct hands-on workshops. My goals for this year in EDIT AI are to focus on large language models that can provide useful patient analysis and accurate guidance for patients with critical conditions. I am also looking forward to a Mentoring role. Apart from my AI interests, I also enjoy reading books, listening to music, and baking new desserts.

Project/Research Interests: LLMs, Natural Language Processing, Natural language analysis of medical issues, Interpretable Control, Machine Learning applications to medical sciences, Computer Vision, and Genetics.
